Prenuptial agreements are usually designed as a form of protection for involved parties that guarantees legally that they wont get taken advantage of in the event of a nasty divorce. This form of protection is normally in place for the man, as men are usually the breadwinners. If this particular form of protection is written up and set in place for legal purposes then there shouldn't be anything to worry about right? Wrong. A woman recently got her prenuptial agreement thrown out of court and is now entitled to her former husband assets up to and including more than half of everything he has made. Now in the woman's case she stayed married to the man for over 20 years and had three children for him. So I do feel she is entitled to child support and possible spousal support from the man for the duration of the childhood of the offspring. But there are a few vital things that need to be taken into consideration even with the matter of spousal support. Lets examine them.
Elizabeth Petrakis married a multi-million dollar real estate developer, which means he is rich by normal standards. She married him when she was 18 until her current age of 39, so that's about 21 years. Now for 21 years this woman never acquired a career, went to school or did anything to actually contribute to the advancement of the relationship nor bring in a substantial amount of money to any degree. Which means she basically wanted to be taken care of. But that's apparently the mans fault. Her and her lawyers were able to convince a judge that the prenuptial agreement was forcibly signed under some form of duress and fraud. Her argument being that he told her at the time of the signing that he would put the house in her name and destroy the prenuptial after she gave birth to their fist child. This is obvious hearsay there is no proof that any conversation of this sort ever took place. But somehow the burden of proof fell on him and he was unable to prove that the conversation DIDN'T take place. Again this is his fault. To add to her argument she included the fact that he presented her with the prenuptial agreement four days before the weeding day and she had no choice but to sign it and had no time to consult with a lawyer which basically translates into I was young and dumb and didn't know what I was doing.
So with all of that being said, not even the legal system has the best interest of men in mind any longer when a legal document can be thrown out at the urging of a female who claims to be too stupid to know what she was doing at the time. Yet this same stupid woman was able to conjure up a substantial amount of intelligence when it came to going after her ex husbands money. With things like this happening everyday in american society it is absolutely the stupidest thing a man can to himself by asking a woman to marry him.
Another interesting thing which is much more high profile is Demi moore's counter divorce suit from Ashton Kutcher. She is reportedly worth about 150-160 million while he is one of tv's highest paid actors worth about 120 million yet she is filing for spousal support simply because she is able to do so......
Please explain to me how the legal system is even allowing this case to even go forward? There is absolutely no reason for her to demand that he give her anything seeing as how she has enough money to take care of herself for 10 lifetimes.
The pendulum of feminism has swung too far and there is a difference between fair and just ridiculously advantageous to just flat out wrong. The legal system is supposed to protect people and it isn't supposed to place a vagina above whats right. This has gone on long enough and I feel that we are allowing a society of women who are not and will not accept responsibility for their own actions under any circumstance. Men of all races and ages need to recognize whats going on and stand up and make yourselves heard.
Men need to grow some balls............
